EWEA Workshop - Wind Turbine Noise

11 December 2012 - 12 December 2012

EWEA’s third technology workshop, organised in response to requests from its members, will provide a unique forum to discuss the key acoustic issues currently facing the industry. Topics covered will include the sources of noise on a turbine, the way noise propagates and how it is perceived at nearby residences. Design principles - for both individual turbines and wind farms as a whole - will be discussed as well as national guidelines. Special attention will be paid to wind farm design where there are cumulative noise issues and the potential for conflict between the interests of rival developers. A session will be dedicated to noise issues offshore.
